Count Your Blessings

Yesterday was crazy! Dallas was hit with several tornadoes shortly after lunch yesterday destroying homes, tearing down power lines, tossing trailers around in the air, and damaging cars from the baseball and golf ball sized hail. Fortunately, I was not in the areas affected by the tornadoes and hail. This happened while at work, and the tornado sirens were blaring as the storm passed through, so we all had to take the mandatory precautionary steps and seek shelter in the center of the building, just in case. There were no reported deaths or serious injuries from the tornadoes. Thank goodness! This is one thing I really don’t like about Texas, other than the heat. Now on to today's outfit...

I must admit, when I bought this shirt about two years ago, I only envisioned wearing it with a darker bottom like grey (I'm not really into black pants & skirts...weird, I know). But behold! I decided to try it out with one of my favorite skirts, and voila! I'm surprised I didn't think of this sooner, as I'm always trying different color combinations to add more spice to my wardrobe.

Styling tip: I've noticed that some skirts aren't made with a defined waist band these days. A quick and easy way to achieve this is to add a belt over your skirt. Not only does it help to define your waist, but it adds more visual interest to the outfit by breaking it up into distinct pieces.

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday. The weekend is almost here!

Keeping it Classy,

    1. I was so glad to be safe also. It was a very scary afternoon! They said on the news that about 14 or so tornadoes touched down...somewhere in that range.

    1. Thanks Cherrie! To tell you the truth, the skirt has gotten a little big on me, so I decided to use my old little trick and put a belt around it! :)
