I was messaging my sister a few days ago, and I was describing a blouse to her. I told her that it had "rushing." Then I corrected myself and said "rouching." Then I realized I had no clue how to spell the word! My silly Blackberry did not provide the correct spelling with spell check (don't get me started on my 3 yr old BB!!!). So, what else could I do but to head over to Wikipedia. For once, Wikipedia did not provide a satisfying explanation, so I found an article on wisegeek.com.
Ruching - a French term which means to gather, ruffle, or pleat; the term is a sewing technique in which fabric or ribbon is gathered in a repeating pattern to form ruffles, scallops, or petals.
There you have it. Ruching. R-U-C-H-I-N-G. Now we all know how it's spelled.
Not sure why I chose all wedding pics to showcase the style, but I'm loving each of these dresses :)
Keeping it Classy,
